Local-first design

Splix is designed as a local-first Android app. In the current build, Splix does not create accounts, run a Splix backend, sync app data to Baeri servers, show ads, use in-app purchases, process payments, connect to banks, or process bookings.

Data stored on your device

Splix stores app data locally on your device so the app can provide its features. This may include local profile settings, contacts, group members, expenses, drafts, settlement records, trip names, trip people, destinations, dates, itinerary items, preparation items, travel insurance checklist items, estimates, provider links, reminders, selected cover images, and app settings.

Android Auto Backup is disabled for Splix so local app data is not intentionally backed up through Android app-data backup by this app.

When data may leave your device

Splix does not send your ledger, trip, contact, or profile data to Baeri servers. Data may leave your device when you choose a feature that uses another app or service:

• Sharing, email, SMS, and trip JSON export send selected text or files to the app, person, or location you choose.
• Opening provider links or Browse actions opens external websites in Custom Tabs or your browser. Those websites are governed by their own privacy policies.
• Pexels cover search sends your search text to Pexels when you choose Find cover, and downloads the selected image if you choose one.
• Android notification delivery for trip reminders is local OS notification behavior. Splix does not use a cloud push messaging service in the current build.

Payments, bookings, and insurance

Splix helps calculate shared costs and organize planning data. Splix does not process payments, transfer money, connect to banks, book travel, confirm reservations, sell insurance, provide insurance advice, compare policies, or underwrite coverage.

Deleting data

You can delete or edit local data in the app. Groups and trips moved to Recently Deleted can be restored during the local recovery period or permanently deleted. You can remove contacts and profile metadata. Uninstalling Splix removes app-private local data from the device according to Android behavior.

Because the current build has no account system or Baeri backend, Baeri does not hold server-side Splix account data to delete. For support, contact splix@baeri.eu.

Changes

This policy may be updated as Splix changes. The published page should match the app version available on Google Play.
