Splix privacy policy

This policy applies to the Splix Android app, published by Baeri. For privacy questions, contact splix@baeri.eu.

Local-first design

Splix is designed as a local-first Android app. It does not create accounts, operate a Splix backend, sync app data to Baeri servers, use analytics or advertising SDKs, show ads, or use in-app purchases.

Data stored on your device

Splix stores app data locally on your device so it can provide its features. This can include profile settings; contacts and group members; expenses, payments, balances, and settlement records; trip names, destinations, dates, people, itinerary and preparation items; insurance checklist items; estimates; provider links; reminders; selected cover images; and app settings.

Android Auto Backup is disabled for Splix, so the app does not intentionally back up its app-private data through Android app-data backup.

When data may leave your device

Splix does not send your profile, contact, group, expense, payment, or trip data to Baeri servers. Information may leave your device only when you choose a feature that uses another app or service:

• Sharing summaries, email, SMS, and trip JSON export send the text or file you choose to the app, person, or location you select.
• Opening a provider link or using Browse opens an external website in a Custom Tab or browser. The link can include trip-search details such as destination, dates, and traveller counts. Those sites apply their own privacy policies.
• If Pexels cover search is configured in your app version, choosing Find cover sends the search text you submit to Pexels, a Canva Germany GmbH brand, over HTTPS and downloads previews or a photo you select. Like other internet services, Pexels also receives your IP address and standard connection information needed to process the request. Splix does not send your profile, contacts, expense records, or full trip data to Pexels. Pexels handles this activity under its privacy policy.
• Trip reminders use local Android notifications. Splix does not use a cloud push-notification service.

Payments, bookings, and insurance

Splix helps calculate shared costs and organize planning information. It does not process payments, transfer money, connect to banks, book travel, confirm reservations, sell insurance, provide insurance advice, compare policies, or underwrite coverage.

Deleting data

You can edit or delete local data in Splix. Groups and trips moved to Recently Deleted remain on your device until they are restored, permanently deleted, or cleared by the app's local cleanup. You can also remove contacts and profile metadata.

Uninstalling Splix removes its app-private local data according to Android behavior. Content you exported, shared, saved outside Splix, or selected from another app may remain in those other locations and must be managed there. Because Splix has no account system or Baeri backend, Baeri does not hold server-side Splix account data to delete. See Delete Splix data for practical steps.

Support messages and changes

If you email Splix support, Baeri receives the information you include and uses it to respond to your request. Please avoid sending private app data unless it is needed to explain the issue.

We may update this policy when Splix changes. The published policy will show its latest update date.
