Terms of service
The terms and service boundaries for using Splix locally and with optional Sync.

These terms apply to the Splix Android app, published by Baeri. By using Splix, you agree to these terms. Nothing here removes consumer rights that cannot lawfully be excluded. For questions, contact splix@baeri.eu.
Splix helps you record shared expenses, calculate balances, record payments made outside the app, manage reusable local contacts, and plan trips with dates, people, itinerary items, preparation, reminders, and local JSON import or export.
Calculations, reminders, estimates, links, and suggested settlements are provided as organizational aids.
Splix calculates balances and suggested settlement steps from the amounts, currencies, participants, shares, payments, and other information recorded in the app. Results may be incorrect because of incomplete or incorrect input, rounding, software defects, imported data, or later edits.
You must review the underlying entries and verify balances and settlement instructions before making or requesting a payment. Splix is an organizational tool, and its results are not accounting, tax, legal, or financial advice.
Splix does not guarantee that calculations, balances, or settlement suggestions are complete, accurate, or error-free. To the extent permitted by applicable law, Baeri is not liable for loss caused by relying on an incorrect result. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits any consumer right or liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
Splix does not process payments, transfer money, connect to banks, provide banking or financial advice, book travel, confirm reservations, sell goods, sell or compare insurance, provide insurance advice, or underwrite coverage.
Any payment, bank transfer, booking, purchase, insurance decision, provider account, or related transaction happens outside Splix and is governed by the external provider's terms.
You can use Splix locally without a cloud account. Optional Sync copies selected structured Trips and Split Groups between connected devices. Sync is a continuity and collaboration service, not a complete backup. Local image files, exported files, and data outside the structured snapshot remain your responsibility.
Creating Sync generates 24 recovery words. Baeri cannot recover them for you. Keep them secure and never send them to support. Losing every connected device and the recovery words can make the Sync account inaccessible.
Internet access and the Sync service may be unavailable, delayed, changed, or interrupted. Keep independent copies of information you cannot afford to lose.
Deleting Splix data or uninstalling the app cannot remove content you previously exported, shared, or submitted to another app or service. See the privacy policy and data deletion guidance for more detail.
An Owner can invite other Splix accounts to a Trip, Split Group, or linked pair. Viewers can read, Editors can change content, and the Owner manages membership, roles, scope, ownership, and deletion, subject to server authorization. Users may request Editor access; the Owner decides whether to grant it.
One eligible member sponsors active cloud capacity. If sponsorship ends and no eligible member replaces it, the collaboration becomes read-only. Members have 30 days to restore sponsorship before the collaboration is permanently deleted.
An Owner may transfer ownership immediately to another active labeled member or permanently delete the collaboration. Permanent deletion removes the managed cloud collaboration and notifies other members; an offline device reacts when it reconnects. A removed member cannot write to or recreate the original collaboration. Any editable independent copy must use new identifiers.
You must have the right to enter another person's name, contact information, financial records, or planning details and to invite members to view shared content.
The Privacy Policy explains what stays local, what Sync processes, and how collaboration removes private Contact and device fields. You can stop syncing a workspace while retaining local data.
Delete Sync everywhere deletes the pseudonymous cloud account and private cloud data after owned collaborations are transferred or deleted. Ordinary local data remains on the current device. Files or information exported, shared, or sent to another service must be deleted there separately.
Where enabled in a sandbox testing build, Explore lets signed-in sandbox travelers publish reviewed Trip ideas and recruiting Trip details. Your private Trip remains separate. Publish only content that you are authorized to share. Do not publish illegal or unsafe content, harassment, spam, another person's private information, or material that infringes their rights.
You are responsible for the accuracy and suitability of the public details you select. Publishing a Trip idea makes its public plan available for other travelers to view and copy into an independent editable Trip. Withdrawing a listing or deleting its source does not remove copies already saved by others.
A request to join does not grant workspace access. Approval creates a Viewer invitation and reserves a place; access begins only after the applicant accepts the invitation and any linked Trip and Split scope confirmation. Applicants can cancel pending requests or decline unaccepted invitations. Owners may manage access separately using the existing collaboration controls.
Use the in-app report and block controls for problematic public content or interactions, or contact splix@baeri.eu. Authorized moderators may dismiss reports or remove public listings. Removing a public listing does not delete the original private Trip, revoke existing access, or remove independent saved copies.
Trip cost estimates are owner-reported planning information, exclude flights, and may change. They are not bookings, guaranteed prices, deposits, or payments processed by Splix. Pexels photos remain subject to the existing external-service terms.
Splix may open external websites or apps when you choose actions such as Browse, Open link, Share, email, SMS, export, or Pexels cover search. Baeri does not control external services and is not responsible for their content, availability, prices, transactions, privacy practices, or terms.
Pexels cover search and selected photos are also subject to the Pexels Terms of Service and Pexels License. Photos may contain people, brands, property, or other protected elements. You are responsible for ensuring that your use is lawful and does not imply endorsement.
The audited release has no ads, Play Billing purchase flow, enabled affiliate injection, dedicated product-analytics SDK, or public-sharing feed. Separate terms and disclosures are required before those features are added.
Baeri may limit abusive or insecure access, correct data, change or discontinue features, or suspend the service when needed to protect users or infrastructure. We do not guarantee that the app, Sync, or an external service will always be available or error-free.
We may update these terms when Splix changes. The published page will show the effective date of the current terms.
